Yesterday’s release of a new trailer for BLACK WIDOW reveals its composer to be Alexandre Desplat. The two-time Academy Award winning composer (plus nine Oscar nominations, including 2019’s LITTLE WOMEN) is known for his versatility, scoring a wide range of films, including THE GOLDEN COMPASS, THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS – PART 1 & PART 2, ARGO, ZERO DARK THIRTY, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, GODZILLA, LARGO WINCH, THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS, and many of Wes Anderson’s films. BLACK WIDOW will be Desplat’s first super-hero movie score.
Directed by Australian writer-director Cate Shortland (SOMERSAULT, LORE, BERLIN SYNDROME) the film stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow alongside Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz.
