R.I.P. Dudley Simpson Dudley_Simpson

It is with great sadness I bring news that Dudley Simpson, the doyen of Doctor Who composers, passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 4th. He was a lovely, kind, remarkable, talented, inspirational man. DOCTOR WHO was but a tiny part of his output of course: THE BROTHERS, BLAKE’S SEVEN, TARGET, THE LONG CHASE, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, PAUL TEMPLE, SUPER GRAN… he will be missed. – via Mark Ayers/FB

Simpson was the Principal Conductor of the Royal Opera House orchestra for three years, although he is best known for his work as a composer on British television, especially his long association with the BBC science-fiction series DOCTOR WHO, for which he composed incidental music during the 1960s and 1970s. -via wikipedia
