Marco Beltrami Scores Upcoming Horror Comedy RENFIELD.

Directed by Chris McKay (THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE, TOMORROW WAR), the film centers on Renfield, who has grown sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula’s (Nicolas Cage) lackey. In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult (MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, X-MEN franchise) stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Nicolas Cage). Mario Beltrami (DRACULA 2000, DRACULA II: ASCENSION, BLADE II, HELLBOY, A QUIET PLACE) is scoring the film.

In the movie, Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his codependency. He finds a new lease on life and maybe even redemption when he falls for feisty, perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).

Based on the story by Robert Kirkman (Walking Dead) and screenplay by Ryan Ridley (Community, Rick and Morty), RENFIELD also stars Ben Schwartz, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Caroline Williams.

Universal Pictures will release the Skybound Entertainment production on April 14, 2023.
