Nightmarish Netflix Thriller THE STRAYS Scored by French composer Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch
In the eerie forthcoming Netflix thriller THE STRAYS, Neve (Ashley Madekwe), deputy head of a private school, lives with her husband Ian (Justin Salinger) and teenage children, Sebastian (Samuel Small) and Mary (Maria Almeida) in an idyllic country town. But her carefully crafted upper-middle-class life begins to unravel with the arrival of two shadowy figures from her past, Abigail (BAFTA Award winner Bukky Bakray) and Marvin (Jorden Myrie).
THE STRAYS trailer “turns the perfect life into a nightmare,” commented John Squires, reporting on the film’s trailer, released earlier last week in Bloody Disgusting. “It ratchets up the tension to expose the perfect life as a perfect lie.”
Nathaniel Martello-White (SMALL AXE: MANGROVE, DECEIT, I HATE SUZIE) wrote and directed the film, and Ivor Novello and BIFA nominated French composer, pianist, and recording artist Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch has scored the thriller. In addition to scoring Prano Bailey-Bond’s debut feature CENSOR, Emilie has created the original scores for Harry Wootliff’s 2018 BAFTA-nominated debut feature ONLY YOU, WWII feature THE FORGOTTEN BATTLE (dir.Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.), the critically acclaimed ROCKS directed by Sarah Gavron, and LIVING, Oliver Hermanus’ adaptation of Kurosawa’s IKIRU.
THE STRAYS creeps into release on Netflix worldwide on February 22nd.
