Of the four Composer Collections, THE ERNEST GOLD COLLECTION, VOLUME 2 is available on CD, featuring music from several projects in Oscar-winner Ernest Gold’s rich filmography for the very first time; music from the Western TOM HORN and the historical television mini-series LINCOLN, in a limited edition release of 500 units.
The other three Composer Collections are offered via Disc on Demand service that through which CDs are manufactured and shipped only when an order is placed. THE JOE HARNELL COLLECTION Volume 2 provides two limited-edition CD-R collections of six scores from the beloved composer’s various TV assignments, many of which draw upon his early years performing jazz music: AUGUST ON 7th STREET, Harnell’s earliest film work for an obscure 1960s short film, the CAGNEY & LACEY episode “Victimless Crime,” THE SEAL, an unsold pilot with a mélange of funky action music, THE ANDROS TARGETS episode “The Surrender,” and another unsold sitcom pilot, ALONE AT LAST, while Volume 3 offers the score to the quirky film SENIOR TRIP. Written, produced, and directed by Kenneth Johnson for CBS-TV back in 1981, it was the fourth project he would team up with Harnell on since they first met while working on THE BIONIC WOMAN series in 1976. This album also includes both the underscore and original songs with lyrics created by Johnson.
And finally the label offers THE DANIEL LICHT COLLECTION – Volume 2, featuring music composed by Daniel Licht (DEXTER, DISHONORED, SILENT HILL) for two films from his extensive filmography, NBC’s 1998 TV film, BRAVE NEW WORLD, based on the Aldous Huxley novel, and BENEATH THE DARK, a theatrical thriller in which a couple enroute to a wedding in the Mojave Desert wind up in a dark motel, which proves to be a strange and surreal place in which an unsettling mix of travelers force our couple to discover the secret hidden between.
