Disney+ Releases STAR WARS: VISIONS VOL. 2: 9 New Animated Shorts – Walt Disney Records Presents 9 New Digital Soundtracks

STAR WARS: VISIONS is an animated anthology series created for Disney+. Produced by Lucasfilm, the series consists of various original stories set in, or inspired by the STAR WARS universe. STAR WARS: VISIONS VOL. 2 celebrates STAR WARS through the lens of the world’s best anime creators, storytellers, and composers. Stay immersed in the galaxy far, far away by listening to the soundtracks from each short.

The first volume of nine anime short films were produced by seven Japanese animation studios: Kamikaze Douga, Studio Colorido, Geno Studio, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G, and Science SARU. The creators at each studio were given free rein to re-envision the ideas of STAR WARS as they saw fit, while receiving guidance from Lucasfilm’s executive team. The volume was released on September 22, 2021, and received positive reviews from critics.

A second volume of nine animated shorts was released on May 4, 2023. Titles include:

• THE PIT (animated by D’Art Shtajio and Lucasfilm) feat. music by Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrix Point Never) (Uncut Gems, Good Time)
• SITH (animated by El Guiri) feat. original score by Dan Levy (I Lost My Body, Vesper)
• JOURNEY TO THE DARK HEAD (animated by Studio Mir) feat. music by Jang Young Gyu & Lee Byung-Hoon (The Yellow Sea).
• I AM YOUR MOTHER (animated by Aardman) feat. score by Jean-Marc Petsas (In Me).
• THE BANDITS OF GOLAK (animated by 88 Pictures) feat. original score by Sneha Khanwalkar (Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, London Files).
• IN THE STARS (animated by Punkrobot) feat. music by Andrés Walker & Patricio Portius.
• AAU’S SONG (animated by Triggerfish) feat. original score by Markus Wormstorm (Four Corners)
• SCREECHER’S REACH (animated by Cartoon Saloon) feat. music by Leo Pearson (Dorg Van Dango)
• THE SPY DANCER (animated by Studio La Cachette) feat. music by Olivier Derivière (Remember Me, A Plague Tale: Innocence & Requiem).

Walt Disney Records has accordingly released nine new soundtracks for the Lucasfilm/Disney+ animated short film series STAR WARS: VISIONS.
