MARVEL ANIMATION’S “X-MEN ’97” Theme Available Now – Digital Soundtrack out May 24
The Newton Brothers have performed the theme from Marvel Animation’s X-MEN ’97, streaming on Disney+ and released on Hollywood Records. The theme is performed by The Newton Brothers (John Andrew Grush and Taylor Newton Stewart), which is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and other digital platforms. The full soundtrack will be released on May 24.
This show marks both the first Marvel Studios project with the Marvel Animation banner and Marvel Studios’ first X-Men project. X-MEN ’97 premiered its first two episodes on March 20, 2024, to critical acclaim, with the remainder of the ten-episode first season releasing weekly until May 15. A second season is in development, while a third season is planned.
X-MEN ’97 is an animated television series created by Beau DeMayo for the streaming service Disney+ and based on the Marvel Comics superhero team X-Men. It is a revival of X-MEN: THE ANIMATED SERIES (1992–1997), continuing from where that series ends by revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as the X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future following the loss of their leader, Professor X.
The all-new series features 10 episodes. The voice cast includes Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler. Beau DeMayo serves as head writer; episodes are directed by Jake Castorena, Chase Conley and Emi Yonemura, and the series is executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and DeMayo.
