Australian sci-fi TURKEY SHOOT, Lovecraftian horror THE RESURRECTED & More Soundtracks Announced

Dragon’s Domain Records, distributed through, presents TURKEY  SHOOT, featuring music composed by Australian composer Brian May (1934–1997, MAD MAX, THE ROAD WARRIOR, CLOAK & DAGGER) for the 1982 science fiction horror film directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith. Released in 1982, TURKEY SHOOT, also known as ESCAPE 2000, takes place in a dystopian future where deviants are held in “re-education” camps, a freedom fighter and a wrongfully-accused prisoner form an alliance to survive their decadent oppressors’ game of kill-or-be-killed – and turn the tide against them. May’s score for TURKEY SHOOT is a unique blend of various acoustic and electronic textures that were wildly audacious for their time. With the previous CD release being out of print and very rare, Dragon’s Domain Records is excited to bring the TURKEY SHOOT soundtrack back to the marketplace, newly remastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland with much improved sound. The booklet includes liner notes written by author and composer Brian Satterwhite, including the participation of director Brian Trenchard-Smith.

Also announced by DDR is a new release of THE RESURRECTED, featuring music composed  and conducted by Richard Band (RE-ANIMATOR, FROM BEYOND, GHOST WARRIOR, TROLL) for the 1991 horror film directed by Dan O’Bannon. Based on H.P. Lovecraft’s classic story “The Case Of Charles Dexter Ward,” THE RESURRECTED tells of a private eye who learns his client’s husband is a latter-day sorcerer out to bring back the dead. For this new presentation of THE RESURRECTED, Dragon’s Domain Records has remastered the original album program released in 1992, thanks to James Nelson at Digital Outland and also features a selection of bonus tracks that include the remixed orchestral selections from the score courtesy of engineer Matt LaPointe, with liner notes written by Brian Satterwhite, with the participation of the composer.

The label also announces The Albert Glasser Collection Volume 2, featuring the premiere releases of Albert Glasser’s music for UNMEI (1951, aka THE INVISIBLE MR. UNMEI, aka ORIENTAL EVIL) and GEISHA GIRL (1952). The films are a crime thriller and a comedy drama, respectively, and both have minor intriguing supernatural overtones. Albert Glasser, best known for his 1950s science fiction scores for INVASION U.S.A., THE INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN, THE AMAZING COLOSSAL MAN, EARTH VS THE SPIDER, TEENAGE CAVEMAN, provided thrilling and energetic symphonic scores for both of these films. This world premiere release of both scores has been mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland and the album includes analytical liner notes written by noted film music journalist Randall D. Larson.

These three releases are limited edition releases of 500 units, and are expected to begin shipping the week of June 7th, 2021.

The label also recently issued a newly mastered reissue of John Scott’s electronic score for the 1981 science fiction horror film INSEMINOID, and the premiere release of Chuck Cirino’s music for Jim Wynorski’s 1994 horror comedy GHOULIES IV. These CDs are now available.
