The Return of Winnie the Pooh – Blood and Honey… II
“A while back WINNIE THE POOH BLOOD AND HONEY caused quite a stir and was met with so many differing opinions from all over. However, the movie was successful and horror fans were delighted with it, so just when you thought it was safe to go down to the woods for a picnic, guess what? WINNIE THE POOH BLOOD AND HONEY LL , is upon us.” – Jon Mansell in Movie Music International
Composer Andrew Scott Bell crafted a unique score for Rhys Frake-Waterfield extragoreflic WINNIE THE POOH (now sans its copyright, when the first Winnie-the-Pooh book became a public domain work in the United States in January 2022) BLOOD AND HONEY, providing a distinctive sound for his score for this film. Bell had a beekeeper insert a violin into one of his bees’ honeycomb boxes, allowing the bees to manufacture their honey within the violin itself; and when the “beehiveolin” was removed from the honeycomb frame and the bees had departed, Bell used the unique instrument to create remarkable musical sounds for his honey-soaked imagination.
Bell’s score for this second Winnie The Blood-Soaked Pooh extravagancy, is “a fusion of symphonic and synthetic, the composer mixing the components from each medium successfully to put together not just another slicing and slashing horror soundtrack, but also elevating the various scenarios within the movie to a higher level, the score contains some beautiful themes, that are romantic yet uneasy, the composer getting the balance just right throughout, melding apprehensive tones with lighter and less fraught interludes. These lulls in the horror material entice and give the listener a false sense of security, the music at times being performed by soft and emotive sounding piano underlined by subtle strings, then BAM he hits you with some hard, fast, and frenzied stabs that are jolting, jagged, and shocking,” wrote Mansell.
Dark House Music will release a soundtrack album for slasher sequel, reported FilmMusic Reporter. The album features Andrew Scott Bell’s original score and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other major digital music services.
