STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS Musical Episode Soundtrack Released
Lakeshore Records has released STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS Season 2 – Subspace Rhapsody (Original Series Soundtrack) digitally, featuring the original music by Kay Hanley (LETTERS TO CLEO) and Tom Polce (LETTERS TO CLEO, CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND), and performed by the STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS cast. Emmy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated composer Jeff Russo composed the episode’s “Main Title (Subspace Rhapsody Version).”
Subspace Rhapsody is the first ever STAR TREK musical episode, which follows an accident with an experimental quantum probability field that causes everyone on the U.S.S. Enterprise to break uncontrollably into song, but the real danger is that the field is expanding and beginning to impact other ships – allies and enemies alike.
Notes Jeff Russo: “When Henry [Alonso Myers, producer/writer] mentioned the ‘musical’ episode, I immediately blurted out ‘a-cappella main title?’ In the end its a blend of voices and orchestra, but it was so incredible to make.”
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS is streaming exclusively on Paramount+. The Subspace Rhapsody episode first premiered on August 3rd.
