MAD HEIDI Soundtrack Released – Score by Mario Batkovic

The way over-the-top “Swissploitation” film MAD HEIDI is a wild action thriller developed entirely through crowdfunding. Directed by Johannes Hartmann & Sandro Klopfstein, the film stars Casper Van Dien, Max Rüdlinger, David Schofield, Almar G. Sato, Alice Lucy, and Kel Matsena; it boasts superb visual effects and colorful set design, a bit of tasteful nudity, gallons of wild violence, and a splendid score by Swiss musician Mario Batkovic.

In a dystopian Switzerland that has fallen under the fascist rule of a cheese magnate, Swiss mountain girl Heidi lives as a simple young woman in the Alps. Grandfather Alpöhi does his best to protect his granddaughter from the dictatorship, but soon her yearning for freedom causes all hell to break loose after Heidi is abducted by brutal government troops and must defend herself and fight a war against a cheese-fueled machinery of hate.

Mario Batkovic came with his family from Sarajevo when he was 11 years old. Music and his accordion became a refuge for the boy who did not understand the foreign language. He became known for exploring the sonic possibilities of the accordion, without effects or loops but rather through a mutually symbiotic relationship between man and instrument, Batkovic began scoring films in 2010, composing music for such films as THE DNA OF DIGNITY, I AM THE TIGRESS, NEIGHBORS, DIE SCHWALBE, THE BEEKEEPER.

The digital soundtrack has been released by Invada Records UK and is available from Amazon, Spotify, and Apple Music. On sale next Friday, exclusively from InvadaUK and the Invada bandcamp is a deluxe vinyl variant, limited pressing of only 200 copies.
