Out Now: Marvel’s MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR Digital Soundtrack
MARVEL’S MOON GIRL AND DEVIL DINOSAUR is an animated television series based on the characters of the same name by Marvel Comics. The series is produced by Disney Television Animation, Marvel Animation and Cinema Gypsy Productions, with animation services being provided by Flying Bark Productions. It premiered on Disney Channel on February 10, 2023 and will be released on Disney+ five days later.
The series follows follows the adventures of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and her 10-ton T-Rex. Lunella lives with her parents and grandparents in the Lower East Side of New York. One day, she activates a portal to another dimension and a red, horned tyrannosaur-like dinosaur steps out of it. Together, the duo works to protect the city’s Lower East Side from danger. The cast includes Diamond White, Fred Tatasciore, Libe Barer, Alfre Woodard, Sasheer Zamata, Jermaine Fowler, Gary Anthony Williams, Laurence Fishburne, Omid Abtahi, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Michael Cimino, Indya Moore, Craig Robinson, Alison Brie, Andy Cohen, Daveed Diggs, Maya Hawke, Jennifer Hudson, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Cobie Smulders, Wesley Snipes.
Raphael Saadiq serves the executive music producer for the show. He also provided both the score and songs for the show. Saadiq is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He rose to fame as a member of the multiplatinum group Tony! Toni! Toné! In 2017, Saadiq collaborated with Mary J. Blige as a songwriter for the movie MUDBOUND (2017), for which they both received Academy Award nominations for Best Original Song.
The digital soundtrack features songs from the first season including the theme song, “Moon Girl Magic,” written and produced by Saadiq and performed by series star Diamond White (voice of Lunella aka Moon Girl).
The series will be released on Disney+ on February 15, 2023, with episodes 3 to 6 premiering on the streaming service ahead of their television debuts. The soundtrack is now available at these links
