Over the last 50 years, Drew Struzan has created some of the most iconic movie posters to ever grace the cinemas. In celebration of Struzan’s 70th birthday, Varèse Live presents the legendary artist’s work in a rare showcase that brings together the award-winning film directors and composers who have worked on the films which feature his iconic posters.
George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis, and countless industry titans have relied on Struzan and his artistic prowess; from Luke Skywalker to Harry Potter, no one captures the onscreen magic like Drew Struzan.
Newly crafted “Visual Suites,” displaying Drew’s various sketches, alternate drawings and paintings, will be shown on the screen as the orchestra performs the classic film music.
Special presentations include The Shawshank Redemption, introduced by the film’s Academy Award nominated writer/director Frank Darabont, followed by the film’s composer, Thomas Newman, conducting the Golden State Pops Orchestra.
Drew Struzan will receive THE HOLLYWOOD IMPACT AWARD in celebration of his immeasurable contributions to the film industry.
