THE FIRST OMEN is a 2024 American supernatural horror film directed by Arkasha Stevenson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Tim Smith and Keith Thomas from a story by Ben Jacoby. It is a prequel to THE OMEN (1976), being the sixth film in THE OMEN franchise. The film stars Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, Sônia Braga, Ralph Ineson, and Bill Nighy. A young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, but encounters a darkness that causes her to question her faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.

First reviews from Rotten Tomatoes reveal 85% of 61 critics’ reviews are positive, with an average rating of 7.2/10. The website’s consensus reads: “Frequently frightening even as it plays within the confines of a nearly 50-year-old film series, this prequel is THE FIRST OMEN of a bright future for the franchise in quite some time.” THE FIRST OMEN was released in the United States by 20th Century Studios on April 5, 2024.
